    From the TF2 blog:

We've been a little quiet for the last week as we've put the finishing touches on the Heavy update. We thought the Pyro pack was the biggest we'd be doing for a while, due to the large changes to the Pyro, but the Heavy update has turned out to be even bigger. In addition to the three unlockable weapons and thirty-five achievements for the Heavy, we've got a new game mode with five new arenas for it, a new Payload map focusing on more open spaces than Goldrush, and another popular community-made map. Throughout the rest of the week we'll be giving you the details on all this, and if all goes well, you'll have your hands...

View first unread post Real racing in the virutal world

    From bbc.co.uk/news

Sat on the start grid, foot poised over the accelerator, you wait for the row of red lights to extinguish. Alongside you are top names like Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen. View first unread post Day of Defeat: Source Beta

Back when I played I actually encountered a number of situations where teamwork was pretty much required to stay alive, especially on one particular orange map, where you could get pinned down pretty good and you had to rely on the machine gun, sniper (me for instance :P) and grenade skills of others to get to an advantageous position from which you could set up an assault.

View first unread post EA wants 'open gaming platform'

Rival gaming systems should make way for a single open platform, a senior executive at Electronic Arts has said.

Gerhard Florin said incompatible consoles made life harder for developers and consumers. "We want an open, standard platform which is much easier than having five which are not compatible," said EA's head of international publishing. He said the web and set-top boxes would grow in importance to the industry. "We're platform agnostic and we definitely don't want to have one platform which is a walled garden," said Mr Florin.

EA currently produces games for more than 14 different gaming systems, including...
